Hanukkah 2023: Ofer Ben Natan's Croissant Donut, Pop & Pop Bakery, Tel Aviv/Yaniv Garnot
All the openings (and the closings too, I wish we didn't have to), new menus and limited edition dishes, festivals and holidays, special meals and once-a-year events (we wanted to write New Year's Eve, but we realized a long time ago that almost every two weeks there is some kind of "international... day" , and in our places this is a good enough reason for the event).
A chef who hosts and a chef who also hosts, a restaurant that dresses up and a staff that changes places, why not, actually.
A dish that gets its own roof (and walls), but also a "hole in the wall" is worth enough for us to report.
Eilat and Haifa, the Sharon and the Shefala, and Tel Aviv (but by no means only it).

The buttery celebrations led the old pastry shop in the Neve Tzedek neighborhood to excesses, in a good way of course.
And so, for the fifth time in a row, we get to receive Timur Lavi's Crimson - that French wonder, full on the inside and decorated on the outside - in two versions that perfectly complement each other.
The salty (NIS 34) is basically a Tuscan croissant sandwich with dough enriched with thyme, rosemary and oregano, and inside ripe French berry cheese, local fig and honeycomb.
The sweet (at the same price) continues the celebration with caramelized milk chocolate cream filling, vanilla ganache and also strawberries from the Golan Heights or pistachio ganache.

Ofer Ben Natan's croissant celebration takes place in his bakery every day, true, but today especially, and then some.
You will find here, among others, specials such as a Malibu croissant filled with mango-passion-coconut creme, a croissant roll with lemon cream and meringue, special discounts and promises of surprises in a French vibe that combine "Shandon" from "Moet".
14 floors up, in the Pop & Pop restaurant itself, the frenzy will continue with a special brunch featuring, among other things, croissant-based bread pudding, croissant bruschetta with vegetables and a tempting center table.

The wonderful doughy tradition of Uri Sheft and his baking geniuses reaches its croissant peak for the sixth time in a row, and extends its arms until this Friday (February 2, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. every day).
The menu, which will be offered on site and in the bakery on Hasmonaim Street in Tel Aviv, includes a spanakopita croissant which is an exciting tribute to the "wrapped pastry" of Yikki Sagi from Kibbutz Bari, a chocolate-banana-pecan croissant filled with pastry cream and topped with crumbled pecans and almonds, an onion soup croissant covered with gruyere cheese shavings, a croissant Crème brûlée, avocado and feta croissant with micro leaves, chili and pickled lemon as well as strawberry croissant and crème pâtissier with cream and strawberry dipped in chocolate.
