The Kremlin has called on the US to refrain from reprisals against Iran or Iranian interests in the Middle East after the killing of three American soldiers and wounding of 34 others in a drone strike on a US base in Jordan.
"We do not welcome any action that leads to the destabilization of the situation in the region and the escalation of tension, especially against the background of the already excessive potential for conflict that we observe in the region," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted as saying by the Interfax agency.
