It's not the worst idea to plan for retirement.
Looking for savings tips, a prospective retiree turned to the internet for advice.
Help was on the way.
Munich – Nowadays it is completely normal for people to ask the internet if they need help.
A Google search and countless pages appear, but they have to be explored first.
Social networks represent an alternative. Users often speak from their own experience.
In order to receive savings tips, a man who says he will soon be retiring has now chosen this path.
Many people have to tighten their belts when they retire.

He sought advice in the public Facebook group “Tips & Tricks for Saving.”
The man – as he himself states, a thrifty Swabian – wrote the following post: “Hello dear savers, I will soon be a pensioner and don’t always want to save, but I should.
I’m looking forward to hearing your tips and tricks.” And he actually received numerous suggestions on how to budget in retirement.
Saving in retirement: Soon-to-be-retired people receive numerous tips online
Of course, there are also well-known phrases in the articles (save time, you'll have it in a pinch), but there are also serious answers.
For example, a user who is about to retire and whose husband is already retired describes that they started living at pension level two years ago.
“So we got used to getting by with less and had saved something in addition to what we had saved,” she writes.
Important note: In the coming month of February, the pension payment date will be postponed by one day.
Others recommend investing in tangible assets instead of taking out taxable insurance, taking on a mini-job, or doing voluntary work for reimbursement of expenses.
One user suggests continuing to work full-time and investing the money in ETFs (exchange-traded funds).
As a long-term insured person (old-age pension), he can earn as much extra as he wants.
Prospective pensioners receive a savings tip: never go shopping when you're hungry
Popular tips also concern shopping.
One user recommends points systems such as DeutschlandCard or Payback and recommends apps from supermarkets or discounters such as Rewe or Lidl.
Another recommends food sharing or going shopping late, as food is often cheaper then.
It could also be worth picking up leftovers at the bakery or restaurant, for example.

A user also says what you should avoid.
She went shopping after work “pretty famished” and then spent more money than she wanted.
“As a pensioner, you should definitely stop doing that!” she warned.
Given rising prices, purchasing is already more expensive.
