Ana Belén and Los Javis (Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi), presenters of the 38th edition of the Goya Awards, have assured this Tuesday that the script of the gala, which will be held on February 10 in Valladolid, has undergone some changes after the publication last Friday of an investigation by EL PAÍS in which three women accuse the filmmaker Carlos Vermut of sexual violence.

“Yes, a moment has been found [at the gala] to talk about that,” commented Javier Calvo, in statements to Europa Press, while Ana Belén pointed out to Efe that “there will be a moment at the beginning of the ceremony to count, accompany and show solidarity” with the victims.

“It is a structural problem of society” that has to do with “machismo and power,” added the actress and singer.

The three recognize that we are experiencing a “painful” moment for Spanish cinema.

Javier Ambrossi has advanced that the mentions that will be made on this topic “will be in line with the statement from the Film Academy”, published on Monday, in which it was already said that “the demand against abuses in cinema” would be made visible. ”.

Ana Belén, winner of an Honorary Goya in 2017, has expressed her belief that more cases like Vermut will emerge.
