“It hurts to know that I won’t be able to hold you again, but I know that you will always watch over us.”
It is with these words, Tuesday January 30, that Gisele Bündchen begins her tribute to her mother Vania Nonnenmacher, who died two days earlier at the age of 75.
The Brazilian top model spoke via an Instagram post, in her native language as well as in English.
“You were an angel on this earth, always helping the people around you,” she continues.

The mother and the model
Mother and daughter were very close, with the former pushing the latter to pursue her modeling career from the start.
Vania Nonnenmacher, who died of cancer on January 28, was “a beloved mother... a model of love, resilience, compassion, courage and grace,” her daughter wrote on Instagram.
Before adding: “I will always cherish the beautiful memories we shared and I will live by the values you taught me, you will live forever through the many lives you touched.”
In addition to this oration, Gisele Bündchen posted a carousel of photos of her mother, always smiling sometimes with her, with her daughters and her grandchildren.
We can thus see the entire family at different ages, with parents Valdir Bündchen and Vania, as well as Gisele and her five sisters, including her twin Patricia.

“Your love will always guide us.
I will see you in my dreams.
I love you,” she concludes, moved.
