"We are evaluating the possibility of immediately appealing to the European Court in Strasbourg for the violation of Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which has already cost Hungary other sentences": this is what lawyer Eugenio Losco told ANSA, one of the Italian lawyers who assists Ilaria Salis, the 39-year-old from Milan who has been detained in Budapest for almost a year.
"The violation is obvious, given how it was brought with a leash into the courtroom", continues the lawyer Losco, who returned to Italy yesterday while Ilaria Salis' parents are still in Budapest where this morning they will meet first their imprisoned daughter and then the Italian ambassador in Hungary ManuelJacoangeli.
"In the meantime, let's move forward trying to understand what the government's commitment consists of in order to reach the goal of house arrest", concluded Losco.
