"What needs to be done and what we are working on with the Revenue Agency, Sogei, is the so-called 'data scraping'", that is, also considering the data on the standard of living that professionals and entrepreneurs publish on social media.
Deputy Minister of Economy Maurizio Leo said this when speaking about the biennial composition with creditors in a hearing at the parliamentary commission supervising the tax registry: "We have already started to think with the Privacy Guarantor and there is absolute availability on their part, without prejudice to the protection of personal data ".
"Collaboration with the Guarantor is absolutely fundamental: tax evasion is like a boulder type of terrorism" and "we must all collaborate".
The deputy minister then assured that "we are not letting our guard down: it is clear that those who do not join the agreement will not let the financial administration lower their guard. Those who do not join will enter selective lists, to see that they have not been able to realize these compensations. But if you see that there are anomalies, you have to intervene there."
More generally, on the enabling law for tax reform "we are proceeding quickly: seven implementing decrees have already been approved, another - on gaming - is being examined by parliamentary commissions, and we are about to launch another 2 very relevant measures: on sanctions and tax collection ".
