The former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, and his wife were sentenced today to 14 years in prison for corruption: local media reported.
Khan was sentenced yesterday to 10 years in prison in a case in which he was accused of leaking state secrets.
The former Prime Minister of Pakistan and his wife Bushra Bibi were convicted of corruption in the so-called Toshakhana (state donations archive) case.
The sentence follows a complaint filed against them by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the country's anti-corruption body, for irregularities in the deposit of state gifts received when Imran Khan was in power.
The ruling comes a few days before the legislative and provincial elections on February 8, for which the former prime minister was already ineligible.
