Since January 29th, six RTL Group TV channels have no longer been available to several million Germans.
However, there is an alternative.
Kassel – The RTL Group's private channels have the highest market share in Germany after the public broadcasters.
Successful formats such as “Germany is looking for the superstar” and the jungle camp have literally kept people glued to their televisions.
The latter will impress again in 2024 with disgusting tests, gossip and emotional stories.
MagentaTV customers now have to do without the TV show because six RTL channels have been switched off for them.
Goodbye RTL – millions of viewers can no longer receive channels
As the telecommunications company Telekom reports, the shutdown took place on Monday, January 29th.
The channels affected are RTL+ Live 1, RTL+ Live 2, RTL+ Live 3, RTL+ Live 4, RTL+ Live 5 and RTL+ Live 6. These were in slots 40 to 45, provided the standard sorting of the channels was retained.
MagentaTV customers were previously informed of the impending shutdown, including through information boards via the media receiver or the MagentaTV app.
Over four million viewers are said to be affected by the station shutdown.
However, the number refers to current MagentaTV customers who generally take advantage of the provider's offerings.
The new edition of the RTL long-running hit “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!” is currently running.

So far, no information has been given as to whether an alternative program will follow for MagentaTV.
However, upon request, Telekom points out that the content of the switched off channels will only “move over” to the RTL+ app.
However, it depends on the hardware: The RTL+ live channels are not available via the “Media Receiver 400 and 200” via the RTL+ app.
According to Telekom, reception is possible with the MagentaTV One TV box or with the MagentaTV Stick.
RTL channel switched off, jungle camp is still running
So if you want to watch RTL via the provider MagentaTV, you still have the option to do so.
For jungle camp fans, the stream via the RTL+ app is definitely worth it, as the current season runs until February 4th.
