Universal Music declares war on TikTok.
In an open letter, the American label, which notably counts Taylor Swift and The Weeknd among its artists, announces the withdrawal of its songs from the Chinese platform.

TikTok’s strategy is clear
: use the strength of its platform to harm vulnerable artists and try to intimidate us into accepting a bad deal ,
”
writes Universal Music in an open letter published this Thursday on its site.
“
We will never accept that.
We will always fight for our artists and composers and to defend the creative and commercial value of music
.”
TikTok's response was quick.
He said it was
“
sad and disappointing that Universal Music Group put its own greed ahead of the interests of its artists
.”
This decision is the consequence of the failure of negotiations between the music industry major and TikTok.
Signed in 2021, the contract which linked the two parties reached…
