The icons of Richard Avedon at the Gagosian gallery
Richard Avedon would have been 100 years old on May 15, 2023. For the centenary of the photographer's birth, the Gagosian gallery has brought together a collection of 150 iconic photos.
It was at
Vogue
, where he began a collaboration with Diana Vreeland in 1966, that he showed the full extent of his talent.
Alongside his illustrious fashion photos, he creates expressive images of cowboys, political figures like Ronald Reagan or the world of the arts, from Marilyn Monroe to Francis Bacon, from the Beatles to Janis Joplin... The exhibition highlights his murals, unpublished prints or the famous series of fashion photos
Dovima with elephants

Cosi fan tutte
, a new production at the Chatelet
Cosi Fan Tutte Monika Rittershaus
The third opera by Mozart and Da Ponte after
The Marriage of Figaro
and
Don Giovanni, Cosi fan tutte
synthesizes all styles in a work that is as protean as it is joyful.
Created at the Aix en Provence festival this summer for its 75th edition, the work is revived at the Châtelet, in a contemporary staging by Dmitri Tcherniakov, with Christophe Rousset as musical director and a partly renewed cast, with Patricia Petitbon in the role of Despina.
The icing on the cake: 20 pairs of connected glasses will be available to spectators to take a closer look at this fool's game between lovers.

, Mozart from February 2 to 22, 2024, Palais Garnier
A Midsummer Night's Dream
,
Shakespeare's comedy at the Théâtre de la Ville
A Midsummer Night's Dream Jean-Louis Fernandez
Here, everything is fantasy and arabesque, to use Victor Hugo's words.
The story, which takes place in Athens, brings together and separates two couples of young lovers.
Hermia wants to marry Lysander but her father, Aegeus, destines her to Demetrius with whom Helena is in love.
The action takes place in a magical forest, during a night that feels like a dream.
Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota's direction summons all the artifices of the theater, from the trapdoors from which the fairies emerge to the flight of their queen Titania who crosses the main stage of the Sarah Bernhardt room.
The new translation by François Regnault dusts off this masterpiece written between 1594 and 1595. A pure moment of theater.

On the program: a collective exhibition which questions, beyond sporting performances, today's protests with works by, among others, Pauline Bastard, Laurent Salvador, Maria Vedder.
Without forgetting a screening of
