Fighting in Sudan between the army and paramilitaries has displaced "nearly 8 million".
This was stated on Wednesday by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, who was visiting Ethiopia.
The war has been raging since 15 April 2023 between the army of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF, paramilitary) of General Mohammed Hamdane Daglo, former number two of the army.
The conflict has caused more than 13,000 victims, according to a highly underestimated toll from the NGO Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (Acled).
