Bruno Le Maire caused laughter among senators this Tuesday, January 30.
The Minister of the Economy, aged 54, was reading in the Senate the general policy declaration that the Prime Minister was delivering at the same time to the deputies.
If the phrase “I was born in 1989” coming from the mouth of Gabriel Attal, 34, sparked a few ovations in the National Assembly, it did, however, trigger laughter from the senators when it was pronounced by Bruno Le Maire …who was born in 1969!

The President of the Senate, Gérard Larcher, also smiled and replied “me, no!”
» to the year of birth read by the Minister of the Economy.
“If only…”, responded the latter.
As is the rule, the general policy speech delivered by the Prime Minister to the deputies is read simultaneously in the Senate by a member of the government.
