Lewis Hamilton stated this in a statement published by the Mercedes team
together with the announcement of his divorce in 2024
, without explicitly mentioning the name of Ferrari, to which he is destined.
"I have spent 11 wonderful years with this team - continues Hamilton - and I am so proud of what we have achieved together. The decision to leave was one of the most difficult I have ever had to make. I want to finish strong together and I want to make it unforgettable" .
The Mercedes team explained that
Hamilton has activated the clause to free himself from the contract
