For years there was a concept in the Israeli book market: Israelis do not like fantasy books.
The sales of these books did not rise, the audience is limited, and anyway he reads the books in the original language - mainly English - when there is a book that really interests him.
But then Netflix, Amazon Prime, and other streaming platforms came along, bringing the young audience adaptations of fantastic book series like "The Sorcerer" and "The Skill of Time" - which brought the young mainstream audience to flock to the literary source as well.
We see the influence of these here in Israel, mainly in the Boktok discourse, partly because these books that are read and spoken about by writers have not yet been translated.
The series "The Empyrean" by Rebecca Yaros, which has been at the top of the US bestseller charts for months, is an excellent example of this. Its second part, "Iron Flame", is one of the most talked about books on TikTok Israel this month, and the anticipation for the translation of the entire series is skyrocketing .
