The story of the seven Procter & Gamble (P&G) employees on the outskirts of Istanbul who in the early afternoon had been taken hostage by an armed man who allegedly acted in protest in support of the Palestinians against the Israeli military operation in Gaza ended after 9 hours.
The Turkish police freed them and arrested the kidnapper.
"When the man went out to go to the bathroom, our security forces carried out an operation without injuring the hostages," local governor Seddar Yavuz told reporters, adding that the attacker was arrested.
