», Exclaims Serge Bousquet-Cassage with irony as he leaves police custody.

With 15 other farmers and members of the Rural Coordination, the president of the union was arrested Wednesday evening at the Rungis market while his group entered a storage area to demonstrate.

“The government has once again made a fool of itself,” growls in front of the Créteil police headquarters (Val-de-Marne) the man who is also the president of the agricultural chamber of Lot-et-Garonne, castigating “an incomprehensible arrest » from the police.

According to a police source, damage was allegedly committed and the Rungis International Market filed a complaint, but no charges were brought against the farmers.

“We just wanted to reach Rungis, because it is a symbol,” explains Hubert, a cereal and vineyard farmer in Charente-Maritime who assures that he has neither participated in nor noticed any damage.

“Now we will have to return to taking care of our farms.”
