Actor Carl Weathers, famous for playing Apollo Creed in the
Rocky
films , died at the age of 76 on Thursday February 1.
In a statement, his family said:
“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carl Weathers.
He died peacefully in his sleep

,” the statement continued.
Carl Weathers, a former professional American football player, became a movie star.
He notably starred in classics such as
Predator
alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and
Happy Gilmour
alongside Adam Sandler.
His most famous role is that of Apollo Creed in the Rocky franchise.
