Investor interest in the sale of a 30% stake in Athens International Airport was so strong that demand exceeded the size of the deal within hours of the books opening.
The final price of the IPO, according to Bloomberg reports, was set at 8.2 euros per share.
The State raised 784.7 million euros with the sale of its stake.
“This is a historic operation for Greece,” says Thanassis Drogossis, head of investment banking at Pantelakis Securities.
"This is a quality operation - he adds - which increases the reach of the Greek capital markets by attracting new investors and supporting Greek tourism, the most important industry in the country".
Athens Airport, which connects Greece with 155 cities around the world, handled more than 28 million passengers in 2023, an increase of 24% compared to the previous year.
In November, Greece welcomed a total of around 32 million visitors from other countries.
