Mozart caught in the game
When you go to see
Così fan tutte
, by Mozart, directed by Dmitri Tcherniakov, you will see neither period costumes, nor powdered wigs, nor young girls and young men discovering love and its games.
This is because Dmitri Tcherniakov likes to shake up the codes, to breathe new life into great classical works, even if it sometimes means provoking a few storms and controversies on the biggest international stages.
We owe to this opera madman
La Traviata
at La Scala in Milan,
Carmen
in Aix-en-Provence or
The Flying Dutchman
in Bayreuth... He cheerfully disrupts Da Ponte's libretto and transposes the action of our days into a vast loft which, for a weekend, welcomes couples who have already lived well, not shy and fans of swinging.
The quest for love then becomes a sort of reconquest of a libertine past in a unique and sober setting, which over the course of the evening gives way depending on the lights, from gold to cruel white, to a sort of laboratory which imprisons these sex beasts between pleasure, cruelty, temptation and domination.

Declan McKenna, pop engagement
Declan McKenna releases new album, SP
With his refrains that loop in your head and a devilishly catchy voice, barely out of his school uniform, the Londoner Declan McKenna conquered the English scene in 2017 by signing a first album entitled What Do You
Think About the Car?
Cultivating the art of protest singers, like a pure and caustic Dylan from the Freewheelin' period, this young musician with a sharp pen is back after a second record ranked second in the British charts, and makes us dance once again to his committed texts.
Announced by an ironic title,
What Happened to the Beach?
, which could serve as a sound illustration for one of the series by English photographer Martin Parr, his new album was concocted with producer Gianluca Buccellati (Lana del Rey, Arlo Parks).
The single
Sympathy
, as powerful as his previous hits (including
Brazil
, which toured the world), is a title which claims peace, built on a simple melody and a rhythm as complex as his wish.
Featuring layered rock guitars, driving synthesizers, and acoustic interludes,
What Happened to the Beach?
reflects McKenna's multi-instrumentalism.
Throughout the songs, this 24-year-old musician, from north London, evokes the glamor of Ziggy Stardust in the 1970s and instantly triggers a smile.

Richard Avedon, a century of light
Dovima with Elephants The Richard Avedon Foundation.
Richard Avedon would have been 100 years old on May 15, 2023. For the centenary of the photographer's birth, the Gagosian Gallery has brought together a collection of 150 iconic photos, a source of inspiration from which new generations draw.
We know his legend.
His first camera at the age of 10, with which he painted the portrait of the composer Rachmaninov, a neighbor of his grandparents in New York.
Assistant photographer in the navy during the Second World War, he became an advertising photographer before joining the Harper's Bazaar team.
But it was at Vogue, where he began a collaboration with Diana Vreeland in 1966, that he showed the full extent of his talent.
Alongside his illustrious fashion photos, he takes expressive photos, far from the frozen portraits of the time, of cowboys, political figures, such as Ronald Reagan, or of the world of the arts, from Marilyn Monroe to Francis Bacon, from the Beatles to Janis Joplin… The
Avedon 100
exhibition , first shown in New York in spring 2023, renamed
iconic Avedon
for its arrival in Paris, highlights his murals, previously unpublished prints and the Dovima fashion photo series With Elephants… Artists and celebrities, such as Naomi Campbell, Sofia Coppola, Elton John, Kate Moss or Miuccia Prada… participated in the event, commenting on her work, her technical prowess, her influence on contemporary visual culture.
