The price of gas for vulnerable customers remaining in the greater protection regime rose by almost 7% in January.
According to the update published on the Arera website, the price of the raw material decreased from 36.30 euros to 31.19 euros per MWh, while the fiscal component (VAT and system charges) began to increase again, no longer sterilized after the surges that followed at the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
The National Consumers Union estimates increases of 179 euros per year.
There are approximately 2.5 million customers still under protection (over 75s, social bonus recipients, disabled people, emergency housing facilities following disasters).
