Hamas, as part of the hostage agreement and ceasefire in Gaza, demanded that Israel release "thousands" of Palestinian prisoners, including those sentenced to life imprisonment, including Marwan Barghouti and Ahmad Saadat.
This was stated by Hamas spokesman in Beirut Osama Hamdan, reported by the international media.
Barghouti - possible candidate for president of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) - has been in prison since 2002 as leader of the Second Intifada, sentenced to 5 life sentences.
The second is the head of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) sentenced to 30 years for the killing of an Israeli minister.
