Under the title “I was never a darling,” Uschi Glas’s autobiography is published parallel to her 80th birthday.
The title is based on the 1968 film “To the point, darling,” which made the actress famous.
After the first successes in the 1960s, the book deals with the themes of “self-discovery” and “growing older”.
The biography will be available in stores from February 28th.

The film and television world in Germany would be hard to imagine without the presence of Uschi Glas; it is a true institution.
She conquered the hearts of millions of viewers in the 1960s as Apanatschi in Winnetou, but despite her role in the classic film “To the point, darling”, she never aspired to be perceived as a “sweetheart”.
Her motto in life is: never adapt, but rather authentic with rough edges.
80 years of Uschi Glas: Looking back on an independent career
Uschi Glas is using her 80th birthday not only to look back on her past, but also to look at her future.
She reflects on staying true to yourself and finding your own identity and emphasizes how important it was for her to be independent as a working mother and woman.
She also talks about aging in an industry where actresses often have an expiration date.
On her special day, a TV station changes the program for a month.
But she never struggled with her own age.

About Uschi Glas
Uschi Glas, born in Landau in 1944, has been one of the most famous actresses in Germany since the 1960s.
She began her career in the film business with films such as “Winnetou and the Half-Blood Apanatschi”.
In 1968 she achieved cult status with the hit film “To the Matter, Sweetheart”.
This was followed by television series such as “Two Munichers in Hamburg” and “Our Most Beautiful Years”, which brought her further into the public eye.
In the 1990s she played her star role in “Anna Maria – A Woman Goes Her Way” and shone as an overwhelmed teacher in “Fack ju Göhte”.
Their performances attracted up to ten million viewers per episode.
