North Korea launched several cruise missiles into the Yellow Sea this morning, the South Korean military announced today.
"The military detected several unidentified missiles around 11 a.m. launched" toward the sea off the west coast, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement.
The military is "closely monitoring any signs of further activity" from the North Korean military, Seoul's statement specifies, adding that it is "closely analyzing" the launch.
North Korean state media earlier said leader Kim Jong-un inspected warships at a shipyard in a bid to bolster his forces as the Asian country ramps up "war preparations."
