A supermarket customer wanted to cook leaf spinach from the frozen section, but she made such a disgusting discovery that she was “horrified by the package”.
Munich – Frozen products often don’t have a good reputation.
It's usually pizzas, fries or meat products that are quickly thrown into the oven as fast food and are unhealthy.
Fortunately, providers have evolved and created healthy alternatives.
Vegetables from the frozen counter can be an adequate option, with significantly fewer calories - if there are no unpleasant surprises, like with a supermarket customer.
“Cooking horror of her life”: Supermarket customer finds rat head
Ready-made leaf spinach can be prepared quickly.
According to the packaging, the 750 gram pack is ready to eat in five minutes in the pan or four minutes in the microwave.
That's exactly what a supermarket customer from the Austrian discounter Hofer (Aldi) had in mind, but called it the "cooking horror of my life, thanks Hofer!"
Their discovery is reminiscent of a net frozen discovery.
On the Reddit platform, she then makes an explanation that will give some people goosebumps just reading it.
“There was just a rat’s head in the leaf spinach from the Hofer,” said the woman and then admitted the worst: “I had taken some out of the pack of spinach the last few times I was cooking.” For her this means: spinach that has already been eaten in the past could be with this Rat's head may have come into contact.
“I will spare you and myself a photo of this content,” writes the customer, which also means that the authenticity of the rat head has not necessarily been proven.
A supermarket customer bought leaf spinach from the frozen section in Hofer and then ate it, but only realized too late that there was a rat's head inside.

Hofer customer doesn't take a photo of the rat's head - "Where is Rotznschädl, oida?!"
And the disgusting discovery causes such horror that she no longer wants to dig into the trash.
“I'm so horrified by the package, I don't even want to pick it up again to collect all the information.” The customer is considering reporting the product to Hofer and wonders whether that will have any effect at all.
Hofer and Spar have announced a change to the receipt in 2023 that will primarily affect women.
Many users on the platform can hardly believe it and want proof: “Pics or it didn’t happen”.
Another says: “Yeah, exactly Hawara.
Where is Rotznschädl, oida?!” Many people advise her to report the rat head discovery.
And one person tells of his personal horror at a bakery: “I once bit out a piece of my tooth on a hard piece of plastic in a loaf of milk bread.
They didn't even want to pay the dental costs, so I got a gift basket instead.
So you can’t hope for compensation or thanks for something like this.”
An expert farmer explains how something like this can happen: “Leaf spinach and other vegetables are natural products.
A mouse and a rat or something similar can always be processed during the harvest.
I think there's even a quota that up to a certain percentage of rats, mice, etc. can be in there." Luckily, that rarely happens and rat heads in spinach leaves are probably a big exception. In an Austrian penny last year A spider climbed out of a fruit crate, experts were looking for it.
