Apparently even deposit voucher fans are amazed: the crazy receipt for redeemed empties raises numerous questions.

Some are answered.

Munich - There are many hobbies.

And some people seem to take greater pleasure in collecting particularly large deposit vouchers.

Empties champion Franz recently had his say on our portal, who redeemed 245.94 euros at Kaufland and framed the receipt.

That's juicy, but not yet a record: a woman apparently came up with 415.94 euros at Kaufland after the empty containers had piled up in her bathroom.

And a pair of pawns collected money for a year and then reached well into the four-digit euro range (see also video above).

A deposit for 976.76 euros amazes many people

Not much was missing from a user who posted a piece of jewelry in the Reddit group “Pfandbon”.

Yes, there is a community for this sort of thing.

And the note really amazed them: 976.76 euros was listed on it.

This is apparently more than most people have for a deposit voucher (perhaps they don't know the couple above with more than 1000 euros).

“That’s a sum you,” “What means of transport was used?

Truck?

Antonov?

Cargo lifter?" or "Oh shit, how do you do that?

Respect!” were comments from the first few hours.

The deposit receipt shows a whopping 976.76 euros.

Reddit user clarifies: Deposit voucher is not his at all - he works in the beverage trade

After just 19 hours, around 1,000 people had reacted by upvoting/downvoting, and dozens had given their two cents.

“Still more than my current monthly pension”, “You are the real king”, “Did you pitch a tent in front of the deposit machine?”, “Did you get beaten up for that at the checkout?” and “How long did you stand there for? Vending machines?” it says in further comments.

Questions about questions.

Our editorial team also wanted to clarify some of them - and contacted the Reddit user.

Of course, his information cannot be verified, nor can the authenticity of the deposit voucher itself, but there is nothing to indicate that it is a fake.

He assures us that the receipt is real.

The first surprise: It's not his own at all.

“It would be nice if it was mine.” Rather, he works in a drinks store, “and we took a photo of the amount because something like that isn’t everyday.”

The location and name of the market cannot be seen in the picture because he posted it without prior agreement.

It is from December 11, 2023.

“The gentleman was with us for a good 5-6 hours to redeem his empties”

When someone brings that much deposit - which takes a correspondingly long time - the team naturally becomes curious and chats with the customer.

“A young man used his basement, which was under the garage, as his deposit for a year until his wife forced him to take it away.

He always just threw the cans and bottles in at the bottom and kept collecting them because he had the space for them.” Since the description comes from a third hand, it should be viewed with caution, but it also seems plausible.

“The gentleman was with us for a good 5-6 hours to redeem his empties, and we were all very surprised that it was so much.”

It is often assumed that such customers are particularly annoying.

A Rewe employee once posted another impressive deposit with the sentence “I hate people”.

But that's not the case for the beverage store employee with the 976.76 euro voucher.

“People like that don’t annoy me in the slightest, it’s just part of the job.

Whether it's one bottle or thousands, at the end of the day we get paid for doing our work diligently and making our customers happy and helping where we can." Did you know that there is a sentence that retail employees don't say? can hear more?
