Big price drop: These items at Kaufland and Lidl are now cheaper

This specifically concerns products from the two retailers' own organic brands.

As Kaufland confirms, the company reduced the sales prices of more than 50 items under the “K-Bio” brand as of January 29th.

For example, the 500 gram pack of spelled flakes costs 1.25 euros instead of 1.75 euros.

The 200 gram pack of hazelnut kernels is now offered for 2.39 euros instead of 2.95 euros.

Lidl has also seen a major drop in prices since January 29th: As the discounter announced in a press release, the price of the 500 gram pack of “organic muesli” from its own brand “Crownfield” fell from 2.99 Euro reduced to 2.75 euros.

A kilo pack of “Bioland wheat flour” from the “Belbake” brand now costs 85 cents instead of 99 cents.

Fallen raw material prices are said to have led to a fall in prices

According to media reports, the Schwarz Group, which includes Kaufland and Lidl, justified the product price reductions with lower raw material prices.

When asked by

, Kaufland explains : “We are taking another important step to give more and more people access to organically produced food.”

Aldi usually sets the cheapest price for corner products in this range.

However, the Schwarz Group dealers have made advances in some product groups.

Most recently, Kaufland and Lidl lowered the prices for breakfast cereals from their own brands “Crownfield” and “K-Classic” on January 8, 2024.

The competition reacted immediately and followed suit.
