After the nationwide protests in Germany, farmers in France are now also paralyzing the streets.
Unlike in Germany, however, this is not about unwanted austerity plans by the federal government, but rather about the demand for more money and less bureaucracy.
But it's not just streets that are being targeted by the protests: supermarket shelves aren't spared either, as a video published on the X platform (formerly Twitter) shows.
French farmers can be seen confiscating foreign products as part of a protest.
In the end the shelves are almost empty.

According to media reports, this is a targeted campaign by the “Jeunes Agriculteurs” (Young Farmers).
Accordingly, several supermarkets in the French city of Pau and the surrounding area fell victim to their protest attack.
The aim was to denounce “unfair competition” in the agricultural sector, as the

portal reports.
In an attached video, several men with shopping carts can be seen storming a supermarket and emptying the shelves.
On Platform X, the reactions to the Prostest attack are rather negative.
One user writes that the campaign is “not good”.
At the same time, he emphasizes that, in his opinion, domestic production should still be promoted.
Unions call on farmers to end protests in France
After further promises of aid from the government, the agricultural unions are now calling for the farmers to temporarily end the protests.
Instead of blocking, the ministries and local authorities want to work on the points announced by the government, said Arnaud Gaillot from the “Jeunes Agriculteurs” union.

It remains to be seen whether the farmers will comply.
The fact is: their anger is great and they will not rest until the French government implements its promises.
This is what Arnaud Rousseau from the FNSEA union suggests: “If we find that all this was just a showmanship, the result will be catastrophic.”
