Presenter of a debate show scheduled for Sunday evening, the journalist discreetly left the Canal + group's news channel in

A tiptoe start.

Since the beginning of January, Frédéric Taddeï has no longer been on the air of CNews where he arrived at the end of February 2023 with “The Evening Visitors”.

In this program which contrasted with the rest of the news channel's schedule, he debated with guests "the big questions of the 21st century".

First scheduled on Saturday and Sunday from 10 p.m. to midnight, this little UFO returned to the air in September, but only on Sunday evening.

At the start of the year, it was discreetly replaced by a news section presented by Olivier de Keranflec'h, due to failure to find its audience.

From September to December, “Evening Visitors” was followed by only 104,000 curious people on average, or 0.7% of the public.

Far, very far from the usual scores of CNews, on the rise with 2.3% audience share in 2023.

Still present on Europe 1

“The transplant did not take,” Frédéric Taddeï readily admits, who specifies that he parted ways “on very good terms” with the management of the channel.

“The show was good, I think, the management of CNews really liked it but it was not watched enough,” summarizes the former face of France 3 and RT France.

“I want those who watch the show to feel more intelligent afterward,” he told us last year when he launched.

If what I do does not suit CNews, they will tell me.

They didn't talk to me about the audience, that's their hobby horse.

» But the ax has fallen.

Now absent from television, the host continues to work for Europe 1 and will launch in March a collection of 15 books that he wrote called “Birthday Books”.
