Unrest in the Repatriation Center (CPR) in Ponte Galeria, on the far outskirts of Rome, where a twenty-two-year-old was found dead by suicide this morning at dawn.

Some guests attempted to break down an iron door, threw rocks and stones at staff and attempted to set fire to a car.

The police are on site.

The boy, originally from Guinea, was found dead around 6 this morning.

After the suicide, the protest broke out.

The police fired tear gas canisters aside to quell the protest.

Now the situation has returned to normal.

"The inmates spoke to us about the infernal conditions experienced in this centre, from a health, hygiene and nutrition point of view. The request to the government is to enter these places, to see them and to move towards overcoming and closing these places. It's one thing to have a limited time before repatriation, but here there are people who will never be repatriated and are kept in a state of captivity", said the deputy and secretary of +Europa Riccardo Magi after being at the CPR.

With him the dem senator Cecilia D'Elia: "We are all shocked by the boy's death.

It's all surreal. The conditions are terrible. The PonteGaleria CPR must be closed".
