Joe Biden has won the Democratic primary in South Carolina, according to Associated Press projections.
The victory of the US president against the Minnesota congressman Dean Phillips and the writer Marianne Williamson is not a surprise, now it is a question of seeing what the margins were.
At stake in South Carolina are 55 delegates out of the 2,000 needed to win the Democratic presidential nomination in November.
“South Carolina has spoken – Biden’s first comment on X – and I have no doubt he has put us on the path to winning the presidency again and defeating Donald Trump once again.”
