Chilean President Gabriel Boric updated the death toll in the fires in the Valparaíso region, which has risen to 64 victims, and announced two days of national mourning due to the tragedy.
"I know - he said, speaking at the end of a visit to the affected region - that it is a provisional toll and that the deaths are higher. Those announced are part of the official list of the authorities. I cannot believe - he added - that there could be people who cynically works to cause a massacre like this. I assure you that we will look for them, we will find them and we will bring the full weight of the law to bear on them."
