Swedish apple variety is a classic that is well received at every celebration.
The grated apples are served with sweet cream on top.

Swedish apple tart with cream is always a good choice.
In this recipe, you use a good sponge cake base for the classic, which you can buy ready-made from a confectioner or supermarket, for example.
If you like, you can of course bake your own sponge cake base with just a few ingredients.

You need the following ingredients for the mixture (initially without the cream):
Four peeled apples with a sour taste - varieties such as Granny Smith or Boskop are recommended here.
Three quarters cup of water
Three quarters cup sugar
1 vanilla pudding (for cooking)
2 whole eggs
Juice of two lemons

Now it's time to prepare:
Grate the apples coarsely with a grater.
Mix all ingredients with a hand mixer.
Bring the whole thing to the boil for a few minutes until a creamy mass is formed.
Then let the mixture cool down a little.
Now you can spread the lukewarm mixture on the cake base and let it cool completely.

What's still missing is the homemade whipped cream, which is spread on top of the cake. For this you need:
1 cup of cream
1 packet of cream stiffener or cream solid
1 teaspoon of sugar, which you stir into the cream
Just before serving, whip the cream and spread it evenly over the cake.
If you like, you can sprinkle grated chocolate flakes on top as a garnish at the end.
