The movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" from 2005 is remembered less for the plot, and more for the hot chemistry between its stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie - who fell in love during filming.
This is the movie that invented Brangelina and broke up Jennifer Aniston's marriage.
Now that Brad and Angelina are after an ugly divorce saga, Donald Glover ("Atlanta") has rebooted that film and adapted it into a series of the same name, which premiered this weekend on Amazon Prime. To challenge the original casting, Glover was set to create and star with Phoebe Waller -Bridge ("Flybag"), but when two giants meet it doesn't necessarily end in a Catholic wedding. She left the project due to "creative differences", Maya Erskine was chosen to be the new Mrs. Smith, and it sure isn't Brangelina.
Brangelina is not.

On the other hand, Glover released a successful series, which behaves like a typical Glover series - full of emotion and hidden messages about classes and racism.
In the focus: two lonely characters who embark on a high-risk adventure, which includes a fictitious marriage and mysterious espionage missions, and slowly fall in love.
In "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" you can fall in love, and then end up getting divorced.
