After performing in front of evacuees and wounded, and managed to return to the stage for an intimate performance with a piano, Marina Maximilian is preparing for the big show at the Culture Hall in Tel Aviv.
It will happen on Friday at noon, on March 15, as part of the "Winter Sounds" shows at the hall, and it will be her first time performing at the Culture Hall.
She will come to this show, like all of us since October 7, a little differently.
"In recent days we have been talking about 'household heroes' - the women and mothers, who must continue to give children, especially if they are small, the innocence and childhood they should have," she says, "At first we tried to withhold the information from the girls, and at a certain point it became impossible. I tried to think of how to explain it to them. I remember that as a child in Russian culture I grew up on very dark children's fairy tales, and I said, why do we need orphans in a story, a stepmother and all kinds of images that I thought had passed from the world, and that we hoped we would not have to meet as parents in this generation. I think that all mothers are reinventing themselves now, and especially at the beginning.
"Me and Guy were the only people in the world who were supposed to provide our daughters, who are 7 and a half and 4 years old, with a sense of security. At first there was stagnation, I was simply shocked by the world, and on the other hand I was the 'house clown', who continues to create activities for them and market to them the world that is actually We brought them to him.
"At a certain point I went from being shocked and disappointed, to realizing that this is the world - for my childhood and for myself first of all, and these insights turned into songs, because a song can't just be an outlet that talks about how hard and bad it is. We have a responsibility to bring light, a chorus that will strengthen and give optimism. We We don't throw our difficulties at the audience, but look for ways to support them, and with these thoughts fragments of new songs began to unfold.
"Suddenly, new questions are being asked as a creator, questions of what will best heal me and my listeners, what does society need now."

Of these questions is there already a new song?
"There are songs that are going to be perfect, I still don't know what the next thing will be. Recently, all the performances have been for the victims and evacuees, at memorials and funerals, and this reminds me again why I chose music. It takes away all the glam, you come to perform for them without makeup, and it doesn't matter What did you go through last night - you just came to heal."
This is the first time you will appear in the hall. You'll get there too, I guess, differently.
"That's right, I'm coming with the band and for the first time we'll lift our heads together, and not as part of an intimate show. I feel it's a great honor to sing to people especially in these days, which are so fragile."
