Among the measures unveiled to alleviate the agricultural crisis, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced on Thursday February 1 that he was “pausing” the plan to reduce the use of pesticides.
Called “Ecophyto”, it should make it possible to halve the products (fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides) used in fields and orchards by 2030 (compared to the 2015-2017 average).
Questioning this objective is a long-standing request from the FNSEA, the majority union in agriculture.

The announcement of the suspension of the program caused fear and anger among environmental defense associations, ecologists and organic farmers.
This Sunday, the Ministers of Ecological Transition and Agriculture each provided after-sales service for this decision.
