"The fight against tumors is a priority of mine and of the Ministry of Health. Many tumors are preventable and for this reason we are committed to encouraging citizens to adopt correct lifestyles and join the free oncology screening programs of the National Health Service" This is what he declares the Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci, on the occasion of World Cancer Day.
"Prevention remains the most effective tool to combat the onset of cancer and is also central within the National Oncology Plan together with research, another essential lever in which we are investing", continues the minister.
"This Government has also given an important signal to those who have recovered from cancer, by approving the law on oncological oblivion, which I strongly supported - notes Schillaci - so that recovery from a medical point of view would finally also correspond to a legal and social recovery" .
