urgently evacuated
a crew member of a fishing vessel who had breathing difficulties, 87 kilometers from the Almirante Marcos Zar airport, in the town of Trelew,
Chubut
.
The man, 58 years old and originally from
South Korea
, had difficulty breathing, "needing to be
urgently air-evacuated
in a
risky maneuver
due to the intense weather conditions," a statement added.
The operation began when the captain of the ship "Sur Este 707", flying the South Korean flag, contacted the Argentine maritime authority and reported that one of the crew members was having difficulty breathing and severe chest pain.
After performing a radio consultation with a force doctor, the professional ordered the urgent evacuation of the man for immediate attention.
Prefectural personnel, specially trained for this type of emergency, took off from the Comodoro Rivadavia airport aboard a helicopter and headed to the area immediately.

Once on the ship, "in a millimeter maneuver, required by the unfavorable weather conditions, the medical basket was lowered and the crew member was hoisted, while on land the arrival of an ambulance was coordinated."
Once they landed, the man was transferred to the Trelew Sanatorium where he was treated.
