A 14-year-old teenager died in Corrientes
affected by dengue
, after being hospitalized in a pediatric hospital in the province.
The young man
worked as a cadet in the Volunteer Firefighters
of the Corrientes town of San Cosme, in whose barracks his remains were laid to rest.
The victim suffered from chronic pneumonia and suffered generalized sepsis while suffering from dengue fever at the Juan Pablo II pediatric hospital in the capital of Corrientes, where his death occurred this Saturday.
The latest information available from the Ministry of Public Health of Corrientes indicated that, of the 243 active cases of the disease, 152 are from the Capital and the rest from the interior.
The national Ministry of Health, through the National Epidemiological Bulletin No. 689, detailed that Corrientes registered 3,132 cases of dengue during the course of epidemiological week 31 of 2023 to the present.
Of these cases, 3,031 are indigenous and the rest are imported.
The teenager was fired on social networks by different Volunteer Firefighters barracks.
In Corrientes, as in the rest of the northeast region, the viral circulation of the disease transmitted by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito has been declared.
They reported 11 cases of dengue in Jujuy
The Ministry of Health of Jujuy confirmed
11 new cases of dengue
in the province, eight of imported origin and three autochthonous, that is, corresponding to people with no travel history outside the province.
In this way, there are twelve positive cases since the current season began.
"People with dengue evolve favorably, without requiring hospitalization," said the health ministry, which highlighted the response of health teams for the "immediate containment" of febrile symptoms.
At the same time, it continues with the "exhaustive surveillance of suspicious figures" for which different areas of Government articulate actions with the municipalities.
On the other hand, the provincial health portfolio pointed out that given "the
exponential growth of dengue cases
nationwide, daily cleaning is key to preventing the spread of dengue and infections such as Zika and chikungunya."
By discarding objects such as buckets, basins, bottles, toys or any other container that can accumulate water, breeding sites for the Aedes Aegypti mosquito in the home and surrounding areas are eliminated, it was stated.
Jujuy detected its first case of dengue last November in a patient with a travel history to the province of Formosa, who recorded "a favorable evolution."
Meanwhile, in Formosa, 1,026 cases were detected during the last week.
The provincial Ministry of Health detailed that of the total positive cases, 519 correspond to the city of Formosa.
