Originally coined by the annual Pinterest Predicts report, this aesthetic is already in full 2024 mood. But what exactly is the concept of “grandfather eclectic”?

In 2024, we embrace our comfortable eras, ditching the fitted, bodycon style and opting for looser, oversized looks.
The “eclectic” Grandpa aesthetic is based on retro silhouettes and unique patterns and color combinations.
The Stylight platform has seen a surge in demand for oversized sweaters (the funkier the better), with a 146% increase in the last two months.
And also an increase of 182% for knit hats and 29% for corduroy jackets.
One of the style staples of this new eccentric aesthetic are chunky knit cardigans.
The aesthetic has also become popular for its gender inclusion, with many of the staples and looks being gender neutral.
On Google, searches for the new aesthetic increased by 442%.
Some of our favorite grandparent looks come from celebrities like Tyler the Creator, Gigi Hadid, and Emma Chamberlain.
