Egypt's warning to Israel
Egyptian authorities continue to keep the Rafah border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt open for the passage of humanitarian, food, medical and oil supplies and for the exit of injured and sick Palestinians, as well as people with double Nationality.
This was announced by Khaled Zayed, head of the Egyptian Red Crescent in North Sinai.
90 trucks loaded with humanitarian, medical and food aid entered Gaza this morning together with 6 trucks carrying fuel.
Egypt, however, warned Israel that a possible passage of displaced Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to the Sinai would cause the suspension of the peace agreements with the Jewish state signed in 1979. The newspaper Israel Ha-Yom learned this, but the news did not other confirmations so far.
According to the newspaper, Egypt looks with apprehension at the growing number of Palestinians displaced in Rafah, in the south of the Strip, on orders of the Israeli military authorities and fears that they could force the border with Egypt.
In its vicinity, a vast tent city has been created in which hundreds of thousands of people are housed in precarious conditions.
According to Israel ha-Yom, Egypt's alarm has been increased by projects developed by the Israeli Ministry of Intelligence, which include the transfer of Palestinians out of the Strip, and also recent statements by nationalist ministers in favor of a "voluntary transfer" of Palestinians from Gaza.
