Israel's goal is a complete victory over
Hamas
, warns Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu
.
“We will kill the Hamas leadership,” he says, “so we must continue to operate in all areas of the Gaza Strip.”
Speaking at a Likud meeting, Netanyahu said that the war must not be ended before then: "It will take time: but we are talking about months, not years," he added.
"Hamas has demands on the hostages that we cannot accept - the Israeli prime minister also said -. The exchange relationship between hostages and Palestinian prisoners must be similar to that of the previous agreement".
And he reiterated that Israel will not make a deal "at any price".
In previous agreements the ratio was one hostage for three Palestinian prisoners.
