After a day of mobilization on February 1, teachers will be back in the streets this Tuesday, February 6, at the call of several unions: Snes-FSU, CGT Éduc'Action and Sud Éducation.

Like the previous week, teachers denounce poor working conditions, salaries that are too low and the lack of legitimacy of the new minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra.

The unions also point the finger at the “clash of knowledge”, stated by Gabriel Attal last December, when he was still Minister of National Education.

Beyond this Tuesday's strike, the CGT Educ'Action is calling for more striking actions in order to "make the movement sustainable".

20% of teachers on strike last week

If your child is in preschool or elementary school, fear not.

The establishment has an obligation to welcome the student, even if their teacher is absent.

The reception location, however, depends on the number of striking teachers.

If less than 25% of teachers are declared on strike, the children are welcomed into their school.

If the percentage is higher, the municipality is responsible for defining another reception location.

Last Thursday, the Ministry of National Education affirmed that 17% of staff followed the call to strike and 20% of teachers.

For their part, the Snes-FSU claimed 47% of staff on strike in secondary education and 40% among school teachers according to the FSU-Snuipp.
