The Vulcano ship of the Navy, which set sail in recent days from the port of al Arish in Egypt, docked at the Fornelli pier in the port of La Spezia with 60 Palestinians on board, children in need of specialist medical care and their companions.

On the pier there is, among others, a highly professional Red Cross task force made up of 45 volunteers, destined to welcome and transport 60 Palestinian children and their carers to health facilities.

Ambulances, medical vehicles and a bus are on site.

The injured children will be transferred to the Bambin Gesù hospitals in Rome, Gaslini in Genoa, Meyer in Florence, Rizzoli in Bologna, the Pediatrico Buzzi and the Ortopedico Pini in Milan.

The little patients are all stabilized and none of their lives are in danger.

Some of them were very seriously injured, so much so that

an Ambulift will be used on the quay, a trolley that rises to the height of the ship's deck to allow the disembarkation of those who cannot walk.

Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani is arriving in La Spezia in these minutes and will meet the officers in the wardroom and then greet the crew

on the flight deck.
