Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, for his part, was pleased that the disease had been detected so early.
“Like everyone, we are shocked and sad, and all our thoughts are with him and his family,” he told the BBC on Tuesday February 6.
Fortunately, [the cancer] was detected early and everyone wishes him to receive the treatment he needs and make a full recovery.”

Nine months after his coronation, the 75-year-old sovereign will not completely cease his activities as head of state of the United Kingdom - but also of 14 other countries.
He should therefore continue to “take care of state affairs and administrative tasks” for the coming months.
According to Buckingham Palace, the king “remains very optimistic about his treatment and looks forward to returning to public duties as soon as possible.”
