,” said a spokesperson for Marvel, owned by the giant Disney, in a statement.
Working conditions denounced
The accident comes at a time when safety on film and television sets is under intense scrutiny, due to the tragic death of the cinematographer of Alec Baldwin's 2021 western
Rust
. The industry's working conditions were also at the heart of the actors' and writers' strikes that paralyzed Hollywood for six months last year.
Unions representing technicians on film sets are due to renegotiate their own contracts with studios later this year.
Tuesday's accident happened on the set of
Wonder Man
, a Marvel superhero series starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley.
Ben Kingsley is expected to reprise his role as Trevor Slattery, which he first played in the Marvel film
