From the coin dedicated to Albachia and Vasco Rossi, the first of the 'Italian Songs' series, to those celebrating the 250th anniversary of the foundation of the Guardia di Finanza and the 100th anniversary of the first radio broadcast.
These are some of the novelties of the new 2024 numismatic collection, issued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and minted by the State Polygraphic and Mint Institute, presented today by the minister Giancarlo Giorgetti, and by the president and CEO of the Mint, Paolo Perrone and FrancescoSoro.
The numismatic collection of the Italian Republic - recalls the Mef - is a story of the history of our country where the main events, the protagonists, the beauties of art, the excellences of Made in Italy, sport and music are celebrated every year through the issue of dedicated coins, attracting the interest not only of collectors.
This year, in addition to the 'disco-coin' with some verses from Albachiara, there is a coin dedicated to the Nobel medical scientist Rita Levi Montalcini.
There is also a tribute to the history of Italian motorcycling, with three silver coins dedicated to Ducati.
The first elliptical-shaped coin is dedicated to the value of sport, commemorating Pietro Mennea, the world record holder nicknamed The Arrow of the South. Among the guests of the presentation were also the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano and the Commander General of the Guardia di Finanza, Andrea De Gennaro.
