The well-known country singer Toby Keith passed away at the age of 62 after a battle with stomach cancer, it was announced this morning (Tuesday) in a message published on the singer's official website and on his social networks.
The message states that the American singer died last night surrounded by his family members.
"He fought his battle with grace and courage. Please respect the privacy of his family members at this time," it said.

The disease was diagnosed in the singer in 2022. Last September, he appeared at the Country Audience Choice Awards, where he received the Country Icon Award for his work.
Keith released his self-titled debut album in 1993 - which became an instant hit.
Since then he has released a total of 19 studio albums, with the most recent, "Peso in My Pocket," released in October 2021. Among his hits are "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)," "Beer for My Horses," " American Soldier" and more.
Befitting the genre in which he operated, Keith was not particularly well known outside the US, but throughout his decades-long career he sold more than 40 million copies of his albums. He was nominated for 7 Grammy Awards, but did not win any of them - But he did win many awards at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
