Replace the name "Chamber of Deputies" with "Chamber of Deputies and Deputies".
This is the content of the only short article of the constitutional bill presented by two deputies of the Democratic Party in the Chamber.
The text was deposited at the Palazzo Montecitorio offices by dem parliamentarians Gian Antonio Girelli and Sara Ferrari.
"With this constitutional bill - write the deputies in the illustration of the text - we want to intervene to update the name currently in force "Chamber of Deputies", to "Chamber of Deputies", recognizing in the definition of this branch of Parliament a concrete equality digenere".
"Reality changes - they add - culture changes, the language that serves to describe the world in which we live changes. And the new name that is intended to be attributed goes precisely in this direction".
Girelli and Ferrari now consider the current situation "outdated" and explain: the Chamber needs to be "demasculized".
"The Italian Parliament - they continue - could well be the pioneer of a change, not only nominalistic, but as a true change of paradigm, of mentality, introducing a factor of gender equality into the name of one of the branches of Parliament".
In the first and only article of the constitutional bill, it is requested that the amendment come into force from the next legislature.
