The bomb threat that last night interrupted Radio Mediaset's gala dinner at Villa Nobel in Sanremo, in which almost all of the festival's singers participated, was resolved last night after extensive inspections by the bomb squad and explosive-sniffing dogs.
The Villa and the Aurelia were reopened after 2am, the families of the buildings near the location of the event, who had been displaced as a precaution, were able to return to their homes.
The anonymous call had arrived at 112 late in the evening and warned of the presence of a 'package bomb' inside Villa Nobel where the gala dinner was taking place.
The order to evacuate the premises and homes near the structure was immediate and the police, anti-explosive dog unit, firefighters and bomb squad arrived on site.
